Returns & refunds
Return, refund and cancellation policy
Construction services do not sit neatly under conventional return/refund terms — once cabinetry is fabricated, tiles are cut and membranes are laid, there is no “returning” the work in the way you would return a defective product. The terms below describe how deposits, milestone payments and defect remediation are handled under an Upliftiq contract.
Pre-contract deposits
If you request a fully measured proposal for a project that requires significant site survey or drawing work, we may invoice a survey deposit. This deposit is credited in full against the contract value if you proceed. If you do not proceed, the survey deposit is non-refundable; the measured drawings and material specification we produced remain your property.
Cancellation before site mobilisation
If you cancel the contract in writing after signing but before we have mobilised on site (typically meaning before demolition begins), the deposit (10% of contract value) is non-refundable to cover programme preparation, material reservation and team allocation. No further payment is required.
Cancellation after site mobilisation
If you cancel the contract after we have mobilised, the financial settlement follows the principle of paying for work completed to date plus a defined cancellation fee. Specifically:
- Work completed to the date of cancellation is invoiced at contract rates and is payable in full.
- Materials already ordered for the remaining scope are charged at supplier cost plus 5% handling.
- A cancellation fee of 10% of the unbilled remaining contract value is charged to cover team demobilisation and lost capacity.
This structure protects both parties — you are not forced to continue a project that is no longer right for you, and the studio is not left absorbing the cost of capacity reserved for your job.
Snag list at handover
At handover, you and the project lead walk through the property together and produce a written snag list of any items not yet to standard. These items are corrected within 14 working days at no additional cost. Final payment (the handover instalment) is not due until the snag list is cleared.
Defect liability period
For 12 months following handover, defects arising from workmanship or materials supplied by Upliftiq are remediated at no cost. Waterproofing failures during this period are covered without question. Defects caused by misuse, accidental damage or third-party works are quoted separately.
To raise a defect, email [email protected] with photographs and a description. We will respond within two working days with a proposed inspection time.
Refunds where applicable
Where a refund is due under any of the scenarios above — typically over-payment at handover, or refunded contingency — the refund is paid by bank transfer within 14 working days of the final settlement being agreed.

If anything here is unclear, ask before signing — not after: [email protected].
